The automatic loading and unloading system is a retrofittable automation accessory built to feed and remove workpieces from cylindrical, crankshaft or centerless grinding machines using a gantry or pneumatic manipulator arm, aimed at buyers who want unattended cycles without the cost and complexity of a full 6-axis robot.

Core Capability

Pick-and-place handling is synchronized with the grinding machine's CNC cycle through an I/O signal exchange, so the machine and loader run as one coordinated cell without requiring custom robot programming, and without replacing the grinding machine itself.

Handling Capability

Picks workpieces from an infeed tray, conveyor or magazine, places them onto the grinding machine's centers or chuck, and removes the finished part to an outfeed location, covering parts from Ø10–200mm diameter and up to 1000mm long, generally under 20kg per piece.

Cycle Synchronization

The loader waits for a ready signal from the grinding machine before each pick or place action, so the two pieces of equipment stay in step without the loader risking a collision with the machine's moving axes.

  • A: This system uses a gantry or pneumatic arm for straightforward pick-and-place along a fixed path, which costs less and is simpler to maintain than a 6-axis robot, but is less flexible for varied part orientations or tending multiple machines.
