Intro

The compound grinding machine combines outside-diameter, bore and face grinding in one setup, aimed at ring- and sleeve-type parts — bearing rings, precision washers, spacers — where diameter, bore and both end faces all need to be controlled relative to each other rather than ground on separate machines.

Processing Scope

Grinds outside diameter, bore and one or both end faces of rings and sleeves from Ø20–300mm OD, Ø10–200mm bore and 5–80mm thickness, in bearing-grade hardened steel and similar materials, all referenced to the same clamping datum.

Complete Form Control

Because OD, ID and face are ground without moving the part to a different fixture between operations, squareness between face and bore/OD typically holds to ≤0.005mm and ID-to-OD concentricity to ≤0.003mm — tolerances that are difficult to guarantee when the same part is passed between separate dedicated machines.
