Materials and Parts

Landing gear pins and shafts in ultra-high-strength steels, engine and turbine shaft journals, actuator rods, bearing seats and fastener-type parts, in titanium alloys, Inconel-type nickel superalloys and hardened steel, from Ø5–300mm and up to 1500mm long.

Heat and Residual Stress

Superalloys and titanium conduct heat poorly, so high wheel speed with CBN, high coolant pressure and conservative final passes are used to avoid burn and tensile residual stress. Parts subject to burn inspection or stress-sensitive duty should be validated on a test piece first.
